The Nurse Came Back, Saw the Stain, and Refused to Leave Her Alone-paupau

“I barely touched it.”

There it was.

He stopped.

So did I.

The nurse didn’t need to catch him in anything clever because he had just moved his own story.

First, the cancer had done it.

Then nausea had done it.

Then the dressing had somehow irritated itself.

Now he had barely touched me.

I tightened my grip on the strap.
